A selection of hymns from the best authors including a great number of originals intended to be an appendix to Dr. Watts's psalms & hymns, 1800.

Manuscript, in a single hand, of a copy of Rippon's tenth printed edition of about 500 hymns. The hymns address such subjects as the perfections of God; the sufferings, death, and ascension of Christ; the Church; seasons; and heaven, and include the names of the tunes adapted to the hymns. The manuscript also includes a decorated title page; Rippon's preface to the tenth edition which explains the addition of hymns adapted to village worship, monthly prayer meetings, and missionary meetings; a table of contents organized by first lines; a table of scriptures and an index at the end of the volume.
